The British GP gave us, weirdly, some amazing races. However we were also blessed with an amazing Jake Dixon interview with Neil ‘poor man’s Foggy’ Hodgson.
Now usually a Hodgson interview is as dull and painful as listening to your aunt talk about her vacation to Peru. But not in this case. Dixon was fuming after a clash with South African halfwit Darryn Binder which left the Englishman in a crumpled heap.
Whilst Darryn, who like a sea sponge is alive but not in any way we really understand, continued on with his race Jake stormed back to his pitbox and took to live TV to vent his frustration. Here’s a transcribe of what was said:
“It’s clear, honestly. Sometimes I don’t understand what this guy is doing. He can clearly see that I am past him.
“Use your brain, I am faster than you! I am going to pull us forward.
“Don’t ram me because you’re going to listen to this, and you have ruined my Championship. You ruin everyone’s Championship, mate.
“You are an absolute idiot. I’m absolutely raging because we put so much hard work in. I made a mistake yesterday, but he is just an absolute clown.
“I am sick to death of it, mate. When you are around people like him it is just… ban him! Ban him because it is stupid.
“He does it to everyone. How many times has he done it? I’m not just exaggerating, he does it all the time. Moto3 and now Moto2… stupid.
“I have got nothing to lose now, so I’m just going to go out and win as many GPs as I can win.”
But was he correct? We at MGPN have assembled our team of legal boffins to pick apart his beef and work out which parts were fact, and which parts were fiction.
“It’s clear, honestly. Sometimes I don’t understand what this guy is doing.”
No one quite understands what Darryn is doing. If they did, they may choose a different race series.
“He can clearly see that I am past him.
Wasn’t past, hence the contact.
“Use your brain, I am faster than you!”
Claiming Darryn could use his brain is already a tall order. But then to claim he’d have the limited processing power to realise another rider was faster than him and follow him borders on the fantastical.
“I am going to pull us forward.
Unproven. Dixon could have fallen off on the next corner instead.
“Don’t ram me because you’re going to listen to this, and you have ruined my Championship.”
Due to the poor qualifying Dixon would have realistically been unable to finish on the podium. A fifth place was probably the most optimistic result meaning he would have scored 11 points. Before the race Dixon was 44 points off the leader Tony Arbolino so it’s fair to presume he’ll not finish within 11 points of the champion at the end of the season.
“You ruin everyone’s Championship, mate.
Binder has certainly ruined championships. His highlight came in 2021 when ‘Divebomb’ took out championship hopeful Dennis Foggia in the final race of the season gifting the title to top-stoat Pedro Acosta.
Despite this Darryn hasn’t ruined everyone’s championship. That would be impossible. Furthermore his talents mean that he’s very unlikely to get near the front of a MotoGP race to ever ruin that.
“You are an absolute idiot.
There’s not a medical court in the land that would argue against that. Could be biltong contamination.
“I’m absolutely raging…”
Jakey boy certainly didn’t need to point this out.
“…because we put so much hard work in. I made a mistake yesterday…”
Dixon’s mistake meant a lowly qualifying…which in turn put him in the pack with, unfortunately, Darryn.
“…but he is just an absolute clown.
From the Oxford dictionary:
Clown
noun
- a comic entertainer, especially one in a circus, wearing a traditional costume and exaggerated make-up.
- an unsophisticated country person; a rustic.
Seems reasonable.
“I am sick to death of it, mate. When you are around people like him it is just… ban him! Ban him because it is stupid.
Banning Binder would be like stopping monkeys at the zoo throwing excrement at each other – we all know it’s wrong but it makes great entertainment.
“He does it to everyone. “
Not everyone. Just the ones he can keep up with.
“How many times has he done it? I’m not just exaggerating, he does it all the time. Moto3 and now Moto2… stupid.
Any rider that has “divebomb” on his leathers and is proud of his clumsy overtakes probably has this attribute baked into his DNA.
“I have got nothing to lose now, so I’m just going to go out and win as many GPs as I can win.”
As do all riders in every championship everywhere.
