Alex Rins to Yamaha…in a move that hardly anyone saw coming…

Honda patient Alex Rins is set to cast aside the cast and move to the ‘probably just as shite’ Yamaha team for 2024 with the aim of retaining what skin he has left between the scar tissue.

It’s a shock move that very few people knew about or were expecting.  It’s suggested that the exclusive list of those in the know consisted of Alex himself, his manager, Yamaha and everyone else in the known universe.

Rins, who will go down in history as the last rider to ever win in MotoGP on a Honda, had a two-year contract with his LCR team with one year still remaining.  However the curly headed Spaniard had a clause in his contract that allowed him to peg it from LCR Honda should a factory ride be offered (also known as the ‘Prost clause’).

The move means that the terribly terrible Franco Morbidelli will be switching to Ducati next year.  This relocation will cause much interest as many have speculated that the Ducati bike now has such a huge performance advantage over the rest of the field that even Franco might be able to score points on it.  Although not all agree.

“The Desmosedici is good but probably not that good” admitted our secret insider who we’ll call ‘Matt O’.  “To get the rubbish Morbidelli anywhere near the front would probably take some serious cheating by Ducati…something I’d be keen to grass them up about”.

  • Built exclusively for Marc Marquez.  Who also can’t ride it.

Yamaha

Pros

  • Sweet, sweet handling
  • Excellent beginners’ bike or for those who have just passed their test

Cons

  • Dog-turd slow
  • Rubbish shade of blue
