Jack Miller’s impressive turnaround continued in France with a brilliant and bizarre win that saw him take the flag despite almost crashing and having to take a long lap penalty.
Here’s Arjen once more with a recap:
So who’ll win Italy?
Part of the Mugello charm is seeing he vocal hoards of yellows fans booing Marc Marquez with all their lung-power and then streaming out of the circuit early after Rossi retires.
Sadly the continuous annoyance of Coronavirus means that there will be no disappointment spectators this year – and until the Italians stop believing the anti-vaxer’s propaganda that the jab will cause them to start craving British food.
With no fans there’s a far better chance of a dry track this weekend. This should play into the hands of the nimble handling Yamahas. Then there’s the bendy straight…or the straight bend. Whatever it’s huge and very scary for the riders into the braking area – which was made more tricky post 2018 after Michele Pirro put an awkward divot into the tarmac with his ankle.
The huge straight will definitely favour the power-behemoth Ducatis and with their current form who’s bet against them?
With no Bradley Smith this year the race really is anyone’s to win.
So how did you do last time? (so-so)
Your selected Winner: Johann Zarco (23%)
MGPN reader’s favourite rider rode incredibly in France and would have won if the factory Ducati team hadn’t conveniently remotely turn his power down.
Actual Winner: Jack Miller (6%)
Once again you didn’t think Jack would do it. Neither did we to be honest.
Special Mention: I think arm pump is a made up illness (16%)
It probably is, you’re right.
