In Portugal Fabio Quartarararo was a man on a mission. Here’s Arjen with a recap:
So will Fabio’s run continue? Jerez is traditionally a great track for Yamaha and the flying Frenchie won this race last year. Unstoppable? Don’t count your snails before you’ve de-shelled them…
Why? Well it was this race last season that the title favourite and all-round serial-winner Marc Marquez fell off recovering from nearly falling off. His crash ended his season and almost his career thanks to over-aggressively flushing the toilet several months later.
As they say in F1 – “Anything can happen but usually it doesn’t”
So who’ll win? Vote now:
So how did you do last time?
Your selected Winner: Johann Zarco (30%)
Once again you chose the wrong garlic-chewer. Zarco was looking strong for a podium and to remain at the top of the championship until Factory Ducati sent a coded message to Zarco’s bike causing it to conveniently have a gearbox issue and tipping the poor bath-dodging rider into the gravel.
Actual Winner: Fabio Quartararo (5%)
Despite winning round two you, understandably, still felt sure Fabio would lose his bottle. We understand that a Frenchman and chickening out go together like a Panzerkampfwagen and the Champs-Élysées but surely after two straight wins you’ll fancy his chances more?
Special Mention: I’ve never been to Portugal but I bet it’s just like Spain but not as good (14%)
Harsh but true. Portugal’s the place you go to on holiday if you can’t get anywhere in Spain.
